In ciuda ceva reactii negative la crearea de Biserici Ortodoxe independenta (si poate chiar Autocefale) in teritorii ne-ortodoxe (venind in mare parte de la Bisericiilor Mame din tarile vechi, si deci guvernele lor straine care le finanteaza si ca urmare le controleaza, amandoua voind sa mentina influenta in ce ei considera \u201cDiaspora\u201d lor), mult cler si credinciosi local sustin aceasta dorinta pentru Biserici Ortodoxe independente si unite pe baza teritoriala in tarile lor ne-ortodoxe. Initiativa din Tennessee, numarul crescand de parohii ortodoxe venind din etnii diferite si in aceleasi orase care acum impart aceiasi cladiri, infiintarea parohiilor noi folosind numai limbi locale, din ce in ce mai multe activitati pan-ortodoxe locale, interesul crescand in OCL si nevoia de a focaliza pe viitorul Bisericii Ortodoxe locale daca vrem o Biserica aici pentru copii nostrii, chiar si inversarea deciziei Patriarhiei Antiohiene sa se retraga din Adunariile Episcopilor Ortodocsi de pe tot globul, sunt toate exemple de cum Biserica Ortodoxa unita si locala este discutata si creste aici.\n\nCu infiintarea recenta a Adunariile Episcopilor Ortodocsi Canonici din USA, Canada si America Latina (care au mandatul sa uneasca toate bisericiile ortodoxe de pe aceste trei teritorii in jurisdictii unice), discutii referitor la unirea\/fuzionarea ROEA (OCA) si ROAA (BOR) sunt acum depasite, mai ales dupa patru ani de inactivitate totala.
